Who Are You?
"Who are you?" Read the following to have a fresh & enlightened perspective on what that is:
A story, an experience, and a new understanding!
Lets say you had a friend who wanted to go for a drive in their vehicle, and he/she wanted you to come with them, let's say to go to a special park and enjoy nature for the day. This is something that you have done before and you would really like to do this again so you say yes.
Your friend picks you up in their car, he/she starts driving, but you notice they are going in the wrong direction. You don't say anything for the first minute or two as you think you are being polite, but 10 minutes later you say, "Where are you going? The park is the other way?"
Your friend says, "I know, I can't help it. I need to go east, but my car is taking me west and I can't control it."
Not believing what you heard you say, "What do you mean you can't control it you are the one behind the wheel?"
"I know it would be great to go to the park, but the vehicle is taking me somewhere else."
Now not believing what is happening you say, "You are the one behind the wheel, you are the one driving the vehicle, you get to decide where it goes. Turn around and drive the vehicle to the park!"
"I can't, the car is taking me somewhere else. I can't control it and there is nothing I can do."
"What do you mean there is nothing you can do? I can see that your hand is on the wheel making the turns. I can see your eyes shift to watch traffic and make sure the car stays on the road. Who are you trying to fool?"
"It sounds odd, but the vehicle is driving me."
At this point stunned, but determined you say, "Stop the car and let me drive, and I will get us to the park."
The car stopped, and now you get in and start driving to the park. "See, I'm driving the vehicle and can make it go to where I want it to go."
****Sounds riduculous doesn't it. We would all agree that we are the ones driving the vehicle. The one who is behind the wheel makes the decisions as to where that car goes. The car does not have supernatural power over the driver. The driver is not helpless to the vehicle. The driver started it up, put it in forward, and it clearly moves according to the driver's thought process. What happened here is that the initial driver played the victim to the vehicle while the second driver took responsibility that they were driving it and took the vehicle to the desired location.
*****Now, I want you to have an experience. What I want you to do, you who is reading this sentence, is to lift your arm out so that it is at a 90 degree angle from your body. Don't think, just do it!
Do not continue reading until you have done this! Physically move your arm away from your body.
Ok. so you put your arm out. What just happened there?
You had a thought, and made a decision to put your arm out. Your body, as your vehicle, responded to your thought.
Your body did not move on its own....YOU HAD A THOUGHT AND IT MOVED...You could physically see the result of your thought on your body making it move. You clearly made the decision, the choice, and you saw its impact. Amazing when you really think about it, isn't it?
Isn't it also interesting that the thought you had you could not see, taste, feel, touch, and smell made your physical body move?
A thought is something that you don't see or others see, and yet thinking is something that is happening all the time for you. Thinking is an invisible, intangilble, and etheric process that actually makes your physical body move. The very tiny, your thought, made the large, your body, move.
So now, just like you are the one driving the car, you are the driver of your vehicle, the body! You are not a victim to where your body should go...you get to decide. Just like other people get to decide where to take their vehicle as well.
Lets go further. You can easily see the result of your thought through the body in putting your arm out.
Does it make sense to you that thoughts that you have impact your body on the inside as well? Is it possible that thoughts that you can't see impact your body in ways that you can't see as well?
This is very significant in understanding YOU! Your thoughts are directly impacting every cell, organ, and tissue in your body every moment! You may not know how, but this is where I will help you to understand how thoughts impact your body and help you to consistently have the thoughts that can change the body.
You and your body are intricately connected, but you are the driver of your vehicle. And the great thing is is that you have choice. It may not feel like you have choice in your life for a number of reasons, but the process of mind is to get rid of the reasons.
We all have choice! What an attitude shifter to begin the journey to take complete responsibility for the body instead of blaming it for our life. Why would we want to do this? Because only in taking 100% responsibility for the body do we see the possibility of us being able to change it. To insist on feeling helpless and victimized by the body will only mean that things will not change. Why would you want your past to become your future?
Often, the beliefs and attitudes we have are unconsciously a justification to keep everything the same with our body, health, and life...nothing will change! Regardless of your situation or how difficult it is it still feels safe because it is known by you. To change does not feel safe in a way, but that is the illusion. To stay in that "safety zone" means that you have justified or found reasons to keep everything the same...your past then becomes your future. Why? Because almost everyone has bought into the same reasons and feeling the same way why everything should stay the way it is...in other words everyone believes your reasons or justfications. However, is it really true? You get to decide.
But in seeing things differently, taking 100% responsibility for something we haved played a victim to is incredibly liberating...because now you are taking back your own power.
By doing this you are now focusing on you, what you can control, your thoughts, your emotions, your life. The driver is waking up to the fact that it is driving the vehicle. It is no longer necessary then to waste time and energy on thinking about who or what to blame. You are freed up in your mind to find solutions!
Who you are is an incredible mystery. By understanding that you have control over your thoughts, regardless of what it feels like, is a big first step. Your brain and body are miraculous, and can facilitate new thoughts and respond to them!
I like to see it that the invisible process of thought, the one who chooses, YOU, is divine. It is who you are!
My focus is on helping you to find the motivation, inspiration, and passion to better your life in all areas. To literally change to be all that you can be...that you want to be!
